Bubble tea, tea houses, Asian bakeries and dessert shops in this group are usually walk-in, counter-order businesses with a menu board overhead listing sweetness and ice levels you can adjust when ordering. Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Asian bakeries sell items individually with tongs and a tray, cafeteria-style, rather than pre-boxed, and pastries are typically less sweet than Western bakery items. Lines build up quickly after school and in the evening, especially near colleges. Most of these businesses accept cards and mobile pay and skew younger in clientele and atmosphere.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 12–9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I was recently in Taiwan and saw a Tiger Sugar and Beard Papa's facing each other in a train station. And now we have almost the same thing in Philly, a Beard Papa's and Tiger Sugar one block apart. If you've never had Beard Papa's, you have to get the classic original cream puff. Besides the classic flavor, you can try other flavors like green tea matcha, honey butter, cotton candy, and ube. There's more, but I think I have diabetes now. If you're a sadist, get the original puff with ice cream. It gives me Frangelli's vibes in the best way. This is a small shop, with only two tables. (It's the smallest Beard Papa's location I've ever been to.) There's no public bathroom. (Need one? Reading Terminal Market might be your best bet...) Friendly service. (4.5 stars, but rounding up since Google Maps doesn't allow half-stars.)

Honey butter is actually amazing. Definitely try it if you haven't!! Also, I got the cheeto one as a joke but it was actually pretty good. The cream is a really nice light sour cream with a bit of flaming hot flavor.

I’ve been want to visit this place since they open, my lucky day catch them open until 10:00pm, I ordered a Oreo cream puff, original cream puff & end up gotten the one with the original ice cream puff. I love how it doesn’t taste too sweet, I think the sweetest is perfect for me as a sweet lover, overall I had a Great experience late night sweet & amazing service from the owner. Definitely coming back to try their matcha latte & other flavors!

Insides got 2 tables with 2 chairs each. A filled to order cream puff place (you pick a shell and they fill it with your choice of cream). Honestly the shells are alright, and the signage on ordering fillings misleading, but the fillings really nice. Custard like, heavy. There was a second sign with some promotional cream puff with some game merch, acrylic keychains or something. But the specialty flavors associated with it weren't very descriptive on what they actually were. Supposed to order a shell and then a filling but the signage only shows vanilla and creme brulee when I went. Creme brulee wasn't an option, its vanilla or Oreo. The Oreo filling was.. unexpectedly minty. The vanilla is really good. I would probably just get the original with powdered sugar if I were getting a bunch for a group.

This is my favorite cream puff I’ve ever tried and the customer service is also amazing. We sat to eat our cream puffs inside and were offered water and free samples of the matcha which was super creamy with a sweet and floral matcha flavor. This is the fifth time I’ve visited and will definitely be back in the future!
